What is included in the monthly rate?

Electricity, gas, water, Wi-Fi, TV, parking, lawn care and pool maintenance where there is a pool. The home is furnished, with kitchenware, bedding, towels, and a washer and dryer inside. There is no booking fee and no third-party platform taking a cut.

Will insurance or a charity cover this?

Sometimes. Some families are placed here under an insurance policy, and some arrange support through a charity or a hospital social worker. We can invoice a third party directly if that is how it is being paid. Ask your care team what is available to you, and ask us for whatever paperwork they need.

How quickly can we move in?

The homes are furnished with utilities already running, so the limit is paperwork rather than preparation. Tell us the date and we will tell you the same day what is open. Families have moved in within 48 hours when an admission was brought forward.

Do you have anything within walking distance of the hospital?

No. Anyone advertising a furnished house within walking distance of Texas Children's is stretching the word. Our closest properties are in the Medical Center area, a few minutes by car. If walking distance is genuinely essential, the hospital's own accommodation services team is the right place to ask.
